DIY- CD Cover in traditional japanese origami style

Good Morning

Frank gave me some very cool blueprint on how to build your own individual unbreakable CD/DVD covers.

Here the step by step guide:

1. Center a CD/DVD, at the top of a sheet of paper, as shown here:

2. Fold in sides of paper to sides of CD/DVD.

3. Center cd at the middle of the folded paper.

4. Fold bottom up.

5. Fold the horizontal creases, which I?ve identified in red, to sides as indicated by arrows, so the creases are even with sides of original folded sides. (I?ve identified the creases in question with dashed lines for illustration.)

6. You'll have a box-shape sticking up toward you after making the folds in step 5. Just fold this flap down flat as shown below.

7. Tuck the "ears" that are sticking out to the sides in between the original side folds and the fold created in step 4.

8. Slip cd into front pocket and fold down top half of paper.

9. Dog-ear the top two corners of the top half of paper.

10. Slip top half of paper into pocket.

For a personal touch, print labels and photos on the front center of paper to give your cd holder some character. A picture from a trip of a lifetime or a friend?s favorite tunes.

Happy folding.

Cheers
Daniel

Reach your Linux machines (at home) via dynamic IP

If you ever wondered how you can reach your linux machines at home without static IP address this is a great solution.

Get a free account on www.dyndns.com and download DDclient to dynamically update your dyndns service.

DDclient is a Perl client used to update dynamic DNS entries for accounts on Dynamic DNS Network Services' free DNS service.

DDclient is a small but full featured client requiring only Perl and no additional modules. It runs under most UNIX OSes and has been tested under GNU/Linux and FreeBSD. Supported features include: operating as a daemon, manual and automatic updates, static and dynamic updates, optimized updates for multiple addresses, MX, wildcards, abuse avoidance, retrying failed updates, and sending update status to syslog and through e-mail.

It was origanally written by Paul Burry .

FireFTP - A cool FTP client for Firefox

You don't need to bother using a dedicated (external) FTP client anymore!
This useful Firefox extension turns your browser into a full-fledged FTP tool, with which you can transfer files without leaving the browser.

The installation is a very simple matter. Just download the .xpi package from
http://fireftp.mozdev.org/
then click open in the Firefox File tab. Select the .xpi file from and install the thing.

You can then start FireFTP from Tools tab in Firefox. Have Fun!

Pls. don't forget to sponsor Mime Čuvalo he runs the show and you can use his Paypal account to donate for orphans in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Gadget- Google Earth- Zoom very close

Some smart blogger found out that you can zoom much deeper as the current google earth user interface allows.

As usual you search for the location you like to see and zoom in as much as you can and then copy the URL "Link to this page" (right upper corner") in the address field.

This URL contains a parameter "z" which is the zoom factor, if you change this zoom factor to a higher value you can zoom in much deeper...

In some cases you can even recognize a face...

Google-Earth: http://earth.google.com/

Happy zooming!
